Carnage will rock your world!

Title: Carnage
Author: Lesley Jones
Genre: Erotica
Publication Date: February 14, 2014

I love him, from the instant I set eyes on him when I was just 11 years old I have loved him and nothing will ever change that, he owns me, he owns my heart and he owns my body and no matter how many lies are told, no matter how many people conspire to keep us apart, despite the fame and the distance, we will find a way.

“Georgia Rae, when we made love you used to cry”… He waits for me to sing my bit. I try to swallow down a sob but I just end up singing through it…

“I said I love you like the stars above, I’ll love you till I die”

Carnage, an edgy coming of age love story that breaks all the rules and transcends the decades. Georgia and Sean's story will stay with you long after you read the final word.

An emotional, smoking hot, gut wrenching read.

As I started reading Carnage (Book #1 The Story Of Us), my hopes were definitely high.  I'd discovered last December that Lesley Jones was one of my new favorite authors after reading her Saviour Series.

This is not your typical Rock Star romance!  Lesley not only introduces us to the characters, but she allows us to grow up along with this family of musicians.  We get to follow them as they progress from teenage garage band right on through to world wide sensations.  But this isn't even the main focus of this beautiful story.  This is a story about first loves, forever loves, following your dreams, finding yourself, taking chances, remembering home, heartbreak and healing.

This book grabbed a hold of my heart from the first page.  I laughed, I cried, I loved...I was blown away emotionally!  I couldn't put this book down.  This is the book I couldn't wait to be released so I could tell everyone they needed to go one click it and send it right to the top of their To Be Read list!

This was most definitely a 5 star book for me; I'd give it 6 stars if I could!  I loved the characters, their dynamics, the twists and turns, the surprises and the love shared between family, lovers and friends.  Lesley, you did good, real good with Carnage; I can't wait for what's to come.

Go ahead now, BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!                                                                     -MK

I am a born and raised Essex girl now living on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, just outside of Melbourne Australia, I moved here with my husband and three sons in 2006.

Not only do I love to write but I also love to read and can devour a book overnight if the story grabs me.

I love watching my sons play football and am very partial to a glass of wine, a nicely chilled Marlborough Sav Blanc being my favourite.

Lesley Jones does it again with Resolution, book 2 of her Saviour Series

Title: Resolution
Author: Lesley Jones
Genre: Erotica

Resolution picks up exactly where Saviour left us all hanging! Having left an abusive marriage at 45, Lauren can hardly believe that she has found Gabe, a 35 year old blonde buff sex god, their instant chemistry has convinced him that that he wants to change his serial shagging ways and to make what they have found permanent, he knows that he loves Lauren but relationships are a whole new concept to him and he doesn't always get it right.

Lauren, still reeling from the abuse she has suffered at the hands of her ex husband is not convinced that jumping straight into another marriage is the right thing for her, despite how much she loves Gabe, the sex is amazing, they have no problems there, with Gabe she is growing in confidence and trying things in the bedroom (and every where else) that she never even considered during her marriage but they have known each other for just 10 short weeks and already they have been through enough drama to last a lifetime. Lauren has once again been beaten and humiliated by her soon to be ex-Husband, Gabe has revealed he was sexually abused by his Step-Mother as a teenager, and Gabe’s ex is threatening to stop him seeing his daughter.

Will Lauren listen to taunts from jealous exes and her own self doubt; or will the love (and lust) Lauren has found in Gabe’s arms be enough for her to let go of her painful past to build a future with Gabe. Resolution is the conclusion of Gabe and Laurens story, it will take you on a roller coaster of emotions, with some steamy and erotic sex scenes, just to keep your pulse racing, like Saviour, some scenes are gut wrenching, it will have you laughing, crying and wanting to not only hug Gabe and Lauren but also wanting to shake some sense into them. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

I read Saviour, Lesley Jones' first installment of her two part series last month.  I hadn't heard of Lesley or this book so I didn't really have any expectations other than my usual hopes for a good story-with just the right amount of romance, strong characters and the possibility of a scrumptious new book boyfriend to add to my long list of fictional, swoon-worthy men.

Fortunately for me Resolution, the sequel to Saviour was waiting for me in my inbox.  I was so anxious to start reading; I had my Kindle app opened to page one as I dried my hair and got ready for work that morning.

As I said, I really didn't have too many expectations when I got started with Saviour; curious whether Lesley would she be able to captivate me in Resolution as she previously had.  I've found so many times before the anticipation for a sequel to a series can be spot on or so, so very wrong!  I read on my lunch break, when I got home from work, as dinner was cooking, before bed and between Saturday afternoon errands.

Lesley has this ability to develop characters with such dimension; I clung to every word I read.  Gabriel secured his rank on my previously mentioned list- not only for his gorgeous body in a three piece designer suit or in his board shorts or even when he was out of them.  He was sensitive, smart, sexy, loving, hard-working and made his family and their needs his priority.  Lauren immediately had a place in my heart for her ability to show confidence on the outside; while on the inside feelings of uncertainty, insecurity, shame and guilt were in constant battle with her need to love and be loved, provide stability for her children and mend her broken husband- or at the very least, find the man she thought he once was.  Both Gabriel and Lauren found their lives intertwined with years of secrets that both had presumably tucked away.

At no point in this book did the story drag on.  I wasn’t left with more questions than answers at any point either.  I was sad, excited, and anxious, in love, devastated, ecstatic, furious, surprised and content as I turned from page to page right up to the beautiful end of this beautiful story.  I highly recommend this series.  Do yourself a favor and purchase both books at the same time so you don't have any delay.  Both Saviour and Resolution will become favorites on your bookshelf, as they are now in my own collection.  I look forward to reading more of Lesley Jones' work.  Well done, Lesley!                    -MK

Saviour, Lesley Jones

My feature review this week for Dreams Come True Promotion's blog tour is Lesley JonesSaviour. Lesley, you swept me off my feet with this book!  From the very first couple pages to the very last words in Saviour, I was captivated, intrigued and...oh my! I found myself concerned about the characters, their families and their situations. Lesley managed to tackle some pretty heavy duty topics head on with both sensitivity and concern.

I enjoyed following the story along from Lauren's point of view. From her own self doubt to her growing confidence; I found myself relating to the very real emotions Lauren struggled with.  I have to admit I was so relieved that there was such a sweet romance that bloomed from the very beginning of the book, despite the tumultuous marriage Lauren had survived for so many years. And Gabriel, oh sweet Gabriel. This man might as well have been gazing into my eyes the very first time we meet him. I heard his whispers in my ear, felt his breath on the back of my neck and felt my heart pause as I fell in love right along with Lauren.

I think Leslie Jones has the perfect mix of "Oh crap, it's 3:00 am and I have to work in the morning" story line and "red hot mad passion" romance scenes! I seriously thought I got an incomplete copy of the book or that my Kindle app was corrupted because I kept trying to turn the next "e-page," convinced that the story couldn't be over yet. I wanted more, needed more of Lauren and Gabe. Truth be told? I pouted for a minute or two because I didn't know yet that Resolution, (Saviour book 2)was waiting for me in my inbox.

This is a definite recommended read. It's that book you can't put down because you have to know what's going to happen next, but you set it down for a few minutes because you realize there's only 75% left to read, so you ration out your reading breaks for the rest of the night to hope for a few more moments with a seriously hot book boyfriend and a main character you've replaced your own image with (despite the author's precise description of her).

Review - Saviour (Book 1 of the Saviour Series) - Lesley Jones - Rebecca

Title: Saviour (Book 1 of The Saviour Series)
Author: Lesley Jones
Publication Date: May 16, 2013

4 stars

Saviour... Gabriel... Oh, Gabriel!!

I must confess, I get pretty tired of the typical, sappy romance novel. I like a lot more substance to a story than just a straight out love story. I want something going on that I can't stop reading, or that I can relate to, or that just plain ole amuses me. Saviour gave me what I wanted, while still giving the "romantic love" side of things.

The main character, Lauren, has been a happily married woman for many, many years. Her husband then turns completely fucktardedly abusive to her, yet she keeps it hidden for awhile, not having the courage to face it, even though she's got a fiercely dedicated group of friends she could lean back on for support. She keeps it hidden from her grown sons as well, giving her husband the ability to continue abusing her. One night on a GNO she finally cracks and confesses... the same night she happens to run into Gabriel.

Gabriel is the guy who has enjoyed no strings attached booty calls for years. He's not the kind who is going to settle down (again, he did once, but you'll totally empathize with him for his reasoning for that one). He's established, well-off, and sexy as freaking hell. He's younger than Lauren, so when they meet she doesn't think that anything will develop -- boy, was she surprised!!

As we are lead through the beginning encounters to current time with them (and even further in the sequel, Resolution), I couldn't help but laugh, cry, stay up all night to get more... the usual that a well-written book will do to you. I love that it feels as though you're really in Lauren's head, hearing every thought, every minor detail of expression, and like you're actually living this through her. I felt every emotion she had, and couldn't wait to get more. The only thing that halted me a bit was some of the terms used -- Lauren is an Essex gal living in Australia, so a lot of the terms used are ones I hadn't heard before. It wasn't a bad thing, I just had to look up quite a few terms, or just guess based on context, as here in the US we don't use the same terms. It ended up leading me to reading this book in my head with an accent, which made it all the more sexy!

I highly recommend this book. Lesley Jones has gone a bit out of the box with it, giving us a more mature lead character, and an ongoing development not only of her now past relationship, but her current one, and how they intertwine. The characters are all well-developed, even the minor ones, and you can't help but love some and hate some. It's really a book that makes you feel part of it, and has a fabulous base and development! I call Saviour a "must read" for sure! :)

I give it 4/5 stars :)
Rebecca

I was born and raised in a small working class town in Essex, just outside of East London. I am married with three sons and in 2006 we all moved to the other side of the world, settling on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, about 50K outside of Melbourne Australia. It's a whole new way of life for us down here,we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world.

I am currently a stay at home mum but in the past I have worked at Marks & Spencer, as a classroom assistant/teachers aid and have run my business.

As well as writing, I love to read and have been known to get through four or five books a week. My other interests are watching my boys play football...The round ball version; I am happy to admit to being an addict of social media and I owe a lot to my Facebook and Twitter family in promoting my work; I am also rather partial to a glass... or bottle of wine, a nicely chilled Marlborough Sav Blanc being my favorite. Being a born and raised Essex girl, I will happily admit to be being a big fan of spray tans, Shellac and am regularly, waxed, tinted and sculpted, although I am more likely to be found in thongs/flipflops than a pair of white stilettos these days.

Currently Reading

Since I'm not cool enough to have an ereader yet (soon, it has to happen!) I read on my phone.  I generally use two main apps -- kobo and the kindle app. Here's what I've got on each right now.  Full reviews to come when I'm done reading.

I'm loving both of them so far!!  Resolution is the sequel to Saviour which I previously read and seriously ADORED!  I felt kind of dumb not knowing some of the terms (Essex to Aussie chick is the main character, so of course I had to read it in my head with an accent!), but it was a great story that I stayed up all night and couldn't put down.

With my two current reads, I've been so freaking tired I've fallen asleep with one of them open the last few nights.   :/    Send me coffee and energy, please!

Now, what are YOU reading?
