Say You'll Stay by Corinne Michaels
One word.
Stay.
It was all he had to do. Instead, he got on that bus and took my heart with
him.
That was seventeen years ago.
I moved on. Marriage. Kids. White picket fence. Everything I ever wanted, but
my husband betrayed me and I was left once again.
Alone, penniless, and with two boys, I had no choice but to return to
Tennessee. He wasn’t supposed to be there. I should’ve been safe. However, fate
has a way of stepping in.
This time around, the tables are turned. It’s my decision. Second chances do
exist, but I don’t know if we can repair what’s already been broken . . .

OHMYGOSH I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!
When I first discovered this book on
Goodreads, I read the synopsis and thought it looked so good. I immediately put
it on my TBR list. Fast forward a couple
of weeks (yesterday) and my friend and I were talking about what we were
currently reading and she told me that she had just picked up Say You’ll Stay and that I should buddy
read it with her. At that point I was
freaking because 1 how did I not know it was live already, and 2 I was so
freaking excited because I really wanted to read this book. At this point I had mostly forgotten what the
book was about, just that I knew I it was on my TBR. (I blame the pregnancy
brain.)
So this being the first Corinne Michaels book
I’ve ever read, I didn’t really know what to expect. I think I read 2 pages of the prologue and I
was a mess. Tears streaming down my
face, snot running from my nose. A hot
mess, and that was just the freaking prologue.
I wasn’t expecting the book to be emotional, let alone in the first
couple of pages.
After reading the prologue I was hooked. Nothing was getting me off of my couch until
I finished, except maybe a bathroom break.
Presley was married with twin boys. After moving from the south she was finally
happy. Nothing could ruin her happiness,
until one day it was taken from her.
“I watch them go and I cry. I cry for them. For me.
And for how much pain this is going to cause them.”
After being left with
twin boys, no money, and drowning in debt, the only option Presley had was to
move back home. The one place she didn’t
want to go.
Enter sexy Hennington
boys here.
The Hennington brothers have known Presley since they were babies. The whole dynamic of
the friendships was
great. It made the book that much more
special. I laughed with them, I
cried. I FELT IT ALL.
Zach Hennington was Presley’s
first love, her first everything. Part
of the reason she didn’t want to return home was because of him. She essentially was gone because of him, so
coming back home and seeing Zach was the last thing she wanted to do.
“She fucking ruined me”
Zach and Presley are
amazing. They’re honestly just made for
each other. It was like once they saw
each other again, they knew, and I the reader knew that their story was so far
from over. After everything that
happened Presley wasn’t having it.
WHATSOEVER. But fate always wins
and it was destined for these two.
“I can wait for you. I can wait
forever it that’s what it takes.”
Words won’t even do
justice to how much I loved this book.
It’s 100% one of my favorite books of the year. Besides Say You’ll Stay being a second chance
romance, it’s also a southern romance.
Southern romances are my FAVORITE. Say
You’ll Stay had it all, emotions (a lot of emotions), humor, sexiness,
realness. IT HAD EVERYTHING. I always say that if an author can make me
feel with just their words, they’re extremely talented, and boy oh boy did
Corinne make me feel.
Say You’ll Stay is the story of love, pain, and forgiveness. I
honestly just think everyone should read it.
It’s amazing, and you will love it.
I promise!
“When two people loved each other without inhibitions, the way we have,
there is no chance of ever being the same again. The connection we share isn’t something that
can be severed. I learned to love
differently, and in this instant, my soul has found its way back to him.”
Corinne, I will definitely
be reading more of your books!
