Title: In the Beginning (Volkov Bratva #1)
Author: London Miller
Genre: NA/Romantic Suspense/Organized Crime
Publication Date: October 23, 2013
Oh, where, oh where can I find myself a Mishca? I mean, seriously?
Any of you who have read my reviews or know me personally know that although I do like romance a wee bit, I'm way more intrigued by crime books (and paranormal, but since this isn't, let's skip that for now!) This book had the perfect combination of a love story, mixed in with way more nitty-gritty Organized Crime stuff. I was quite pleased to see how much of the Russian mob aspect was put into this book. It was well-thought out and included enough build up of the Russian characters to make it really believable. I loved the dynamic of dedication to the Bratva and family vs. Mishca finally finding someone he wanted to build a relationship with. The characters are really well thought through, and are more than believable. I fell in love with Mishca, I confess. He had such a dark life, but he was such a light in the dark. He was gentle and just so lovable!! Ahhhh!! Gimme him!
On the negative side, I caught errors in words/continuity (for example, when Anatoly and Ivan were being questioned and Anatoly refuses to talk and ends up shot multiple times, he was dead... yet the book says that then Anatoly spilled information. No way he could have. He was already a goner!) Another that I caught quite a few times was "wan't" which I'm guessing should've been wasn't, along with some other minor errors as well. The book can use a bit of a going over again for details like that, but even with that I couldn't put it down. It seemed a bit on the shorter side, and left me REALLY longing for more. I finished it in about 3 hours.
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend you pick this one up! It's only $1 right now on Amazon and it's a $1 well spent! I cannot WAIT until the next book comes out. In fact... I really think I need to hunt down this London Miller chick and secure her in a writing cave, releasing me little bits and pieces of the book as it comes to life. Would that be too mobbish?
... and in case you're wondering, here's what I pictured Mishca as. And, yes, I did read his words in my head with a Russian accent -- NOMS!
I give this one 4 stars -- leaning closer to 4.5 or so, though.

**Book Two: Until the End Coming Spring 2014**
I'm not all that interesting, just to be honest, but I try to create interesting characters. My debut novel, In the Beginning, was released in October and the sequel, Until the End, will be released early Spring 2014.
In all honesty, he was gorgeous, like take your breath away and just stare for a while, gorgeous. Yet, there was something a bit dangerous about him that Lauren couldn’t put her finger on. It seemed like his presence was magnetic, and she felt compelled to be near him.
“I would hope to think you like what you see.”
Lauren snapped out of her thoughts, blinking rapidly as she realized she had just been standing there, staring at him…again. Clearing her throat, she tried for a smile, extending her hand. “I’m Lauren.”
A corner of his mouth tipped up as he pocketed his phone. He took her hand in his much larger one, his hold gentle as he swept his thumb across her knuckles.
For a moment, it felt like they were the only ones in the café as she stared up at him, captivated by the sheer curiosity she saw in his eyes. Was this what it was like? That instant attraction? She had never felt breathless before, had never felt more than a casual interest in a boy, but right now, standing in front of him, blood rushing to her face, this was definitely more than a casual interest.
“Mishca Volkov,” he answered softly, like it was only meant for her to hear.
